OC Remix Made An Official Soundtrack

November 29, 2008

Normally I wouldn’t post something like this but this is something big for music fans like me. And even though the game itself isn’t coming out on a Nintendo console anytime soon, the fact that they got the ‘go-ahead’ from Capcom themselves deserves a post anywhere at any time.

The soundtrack is free to download over on their site, which is of course OverClocked Remix. It’s great and deserves all the attention and downloads and donations and everything from you guys.

Be honest…..

If that were made into a shirt, how many of you would buy it?

Mr. Smeags Goes to Washington

November 7, 2008

So I was busy one morning, and my friends and I decided to paint one of my campus’ walkways. While they did the usual initials, I went ahead and painted the coolest red Echidna the world has ever seen. I’m pretty happy with the end results, seeing as I’ve never used spray paint as a medium before. His shoes could use some work, but hey… they’re just shoes right?

Time Out…

October 29, 2008

As you’ve probably noticed we’ve been kind of… slacking when it comes to the latest and greatest news and editorials. Sorry about that, it seems like we’ve sort of hit a snag in our non-internet lives. School and sickness can do that to you once and awhile.

So anywho, don’t worry too much, as we’re finally getting back on track and ready to roll out some exciting stuff. Plus, we’ve added two great guys to our team. You may know Shvitzel from his earlier editorial I posted a couple weeks ago, and we’ve also added Ryan Robertson, who shows up about once a blue moon. Hopefully he’ll show up from time to time to help us out.

That’s it for now, thanks for the understanding and continued support!

Yuji Naka Preparing New Game

September 22, 2008

September 22, 2008 – Yuji Naka, known widely as one of the main creative forces behind Sonic the Hedgehog, appears at long last set to enter the gaming spotlight following his disappearance in late 2006.

Prope, Naka’s new development studio, has posted a website announcing that its first project will be fully unveiled in seventeen days. The site promises a completely new experience that can apparently be played by penguins.

We don’t know what that means either!

Based off the logos (and the site’s domain), this project appears to be a collaborative effort with Sega.

Expect details in early October!

Pressing Start…

September 5, 2008

You want to get to know me?

The first thing you should know about me is that I’m a Nintendo fan at heart since the very beginning, or at least since I can remember; that doesn’t mean I just care and pay attention to Nintendo’s side of the Industry though. I also was a die hard Sonic fan back in the 90’s and in a way, I still am today. Though one would say that it’s better to forget about the blue Hedgehog now since all of his recent outings in 3D have been mediocre at best, but I still enjoy them and will keep waiting for that ‘perfect’ game of his.

What else do you should know about me? Let’s see here, I guess you can know about my passion for animation, design and sound. Anything that is visually creative and beautiful will capture my attention and will keep me ready to learn more of whatever it is; another very important thing about me is my love for Video Game Soundtracks, I just can’t get enough of them. They offer something so unique, something so creative that they are just engaging and immersive to listen to.

That’s it for now. I hope you enjoy what The Minus Zone has to offer. Not only do we plan to keep the site with Nintendo related news, but we also plan to focus just as much on Sonic The Hedgehog’s original self; this means his 2D era.

——————

I first started playing video games because of the Blue Blur.

To this day I continue to play video games because of Nintendo.

First off and foremost, I cannot deny that I am, and always will be, a true Blue fan. I grew up with the Hedgehog and I fell in love with the world he lived in. At the same time, over the years I have become a big supporter of the mascot’s once hated enemy: The house that Mario built. A decade ago, this band of Red and Blue would have seemed impossible. How could Mario and Sonic ever come together under one banner? Well, ten years can be a long time, and times have changed. Yeah, Sega isn’t what it used to be, and Nintendo has found some new rivals to contend with.

Still, life goes on, and my admiration for the two rivals continues as to this day. Sonic has struggled in recent years, but there has always been the undeniable excellence found in past adventures. As for Nintendo, well, they can keep doing what they do best. So I suppose that I would like to welcome you to The Minus Zone. Where Sonic’s Zones and Mario’s Worlds come together. It’s the beginning of a beautiful relationship, and I can’t wait to get on board.

Enjoy.
